The atrium glass installation continues, as does ceiling tile installation.  The frame for the stained glass in the Western Conference Room is nearing completion.  The pictures in this post were taken on August 8th.

Our glass supplier, Advance Glass and Mirror, focused on the atrium glass over the last few days.

Ceiling tile installation continues throughout the building.  These two pictures are from Pre-school rooms 1 and 2 (the first two you would see as you enter the pre-school hallway from North 5th. Once the ceiling tiles are installed, the complex HVAC and fire safety systems will disappear. 

The Axis net cam was off line last week because of construction in the IT conference room on the 11th floor of city hall.  It was back on line August 7th and re-aligned on August 8th.

The stained glass framing for the western conference room continued.

Today was a major event in the construction of the new Church.  At 10:00 am the base of the cross was attatched to the lower side of the tower structure.  Over the next few weeks the tower will gain an additional six feet in height, then the Cross will be assembled and installed.

The cross brace arrived this morning and while not large or extremely heavy it had to be placed on the south side of the building.

A long-reach crane was used for the job, after its high-boom extension was swung into place. The swing is controlled by hydraulics.

The brace was lifted off the truck and then crossed over the sanctuary to the base of the tower.

Next step was to lower it into position on the tower structures.

It was then held in place while workers bolted it to the bottom of the tower.

That base is now visible from the parking lot – – – – – – as well as from the east side of City Hall.

Final design packages have been submitted for the changes to the roof deck requested by the City.  We have been told the permits will be issued shortly.

Our network camera has been off line for the last week with modifications to the  11th floor conference room.

The pictures below were taken Tuesday, August 30th.  Additional framing continues while a majority of the sheetrocking has been completed.

We will likely have the tallest handbell closet this side of the Mississippi, if not in the entire US.

A majority of the Atrium has been sheetrocked and taping continues.  Painting on the window frames is underway.

Sanctuary painting continues, and framing for the Tech Booth is completed along with a majority of the sheetrocking.

Equipment and panels are being installed in the electrical room.

On the second floor the framing was completed for the two pastors’ offices and sheetrocking is finished in the breakroom.Preparation for stucco continues on the outside walls.
